Our technical team can help to design, modify and reverse engineer to your specification.

R Baker (Electrical) Ltd have extensive experience with float glass technology which has allowed us to work on very large projects, supporting some of the biggest names in the glass industry. Fives Stein, NSG (Pilkington Glass), and Saint Gobain Glass are among the companies which we maintain close ties with across the world.

Our float glass linear motor range

Within the float glass manufacturing process, linear motors are utilised in the tin baths to help give some control of the temperature profile across the ribbon width. By controlling the tin flow this can be achieved and is normally controlled by using linear motors. R Baker (Electrical) Ltd has the facility to manufacture and repair 6 and 12 pole linear motors, ranging in length and design specification. Our fully equipped manufacturing facility is staffed by experienced electrical designers who are able to design and modify float glass linear motors to meet your specific requirements.

Our engineering team can offer full linear motor systems. This may include trolley systems, control panels or even bespoke cooling systems to ensure they meet specific environments around the world.

Our linear motor range

  • Manufacture and repair
  • 6 and 12 pole float glass linear motor
  • With or without control panels
  • Moveable standing linear motors
  • De-drosser linear motors
