Commercial Properties

As a business owner or commercial Landlord you have a duty to prevent any harm coming to your employees and customers. Fixed installation Testing or Periodic Inspection and Testing forms an important part of any Health & Safety system.

Fixed Wire Testing is a legal requirement, governed by the IET Wiring Regulations 17th Edition, also referred to as BS 7671. Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) or Periodic Inspection Report (PIR) will reveal any faults or unsafe circuits.

This is produced by testing existing circuits throughout your premises. All electrical wiring, circuits and anything connected to the electrical system will be tested and reported on. This report is not only to make sure you stay within current regulations, but to keep your staff and visitors safe.

The completed EICR offers a detailed assessment, including wear and tear, visual damage and dangers of obsolete equipment. The EICR will categorise faults by using C1, C2 or C3 labels. Depending on the property and usage this may lead to further remedial work to ensure the safety of staff. If you are unsure when your last test took place or cannot find your documents call us now 0151 486 6760.

The five main aims of a condition report are:

1. To detail the results of the inspection and testing. This ensures the electrical installation is safe to be used (after any remedial work is complete) until the next inspection.
2. Report any damage and wear and tear that might affect safety.
3. Detect any section of the electrical installation that does not meet the IET Wiring Regulations.
4. Highlight anything that may cause electric shocks and high temperatures.
5. Provide a detailed record of the installation at the time of the inspection. This information can aid future inspections.
