R Baker (Electrical) Ltd now has a dedicated in-house ‘Ex’ product manufacturing team. We design; manufacture and supply an extensive range of ATEX certified control panels and distribution panels for use in gas and dust hazardous areas.

The ATEX Directive has increased the demand for bespoke solutions in many process industries, particularly petrochemical, pharmaceutical and oil & gas. Our range of panels are all bespoke to meet your specific requirements and are CE marked to the ATEX Directive for safe use in Zones 1 and 2 potentially explosive gas and dust atmospheres, where the temperature class and ambient temperature permit.

All of our solutions come with comprehensive documentation. This will include regulatory documentation for ATEX, IECEx, FM etc., EC declarations of conformity, safety manuals, as well as all of the mechanical drawings and documents produced during the project.

Case studies

ATEX distribution panel

Supply CEAG Exde GRP T4 distribution board, with customisable configuration of MCB’s. The design required a flap window to allow easy access to MCB’s and the appropriate ATEX and IECEx standards.

Hazardous area control panel

Working to customer technical schematics; our team designed and manufactured an ATEX, Zone 1 control panel, with a wide variety of components such as MCB, switches, contractors inside. The equipment was supplied with all the appropriate documentation for ATEX, IECEx certification.

Ex d enclosures

All of our solutions come with comprehensive documentation flameproof enclosures, our range includes ATEX, IECEx & GOST Zone 1 rated explosion-proof aluminium alloy enclosures and Zone 1 rated explosion-proof stainless steel enclosures. For bespoke designs we can also offer different rated and structural design for transformer enclosures. These enclosures are suitable for those industries where potentially explosive environments exist, e.g. chemical, petrochemical and pharmaceutical industries, onshore and offshore ship industries, areas at risks of explosion and fire and oil and gas extraction industries. Flameproof enclosures are in compliance with EN standards and are available for electrical devices such as contactors, relays, barriers, electronic controllers and PLC-D/A-modules.
